Jessica Dollan
My name is Jessica and I love Pilates!! I began my pilates journey in 2001 as a student and quickly developed a passion for it. I felt like my passion needed to be shared so I began my certification process. In 2006 I was fully certified in Mat for beginners through advanced and began teaching. I knew there was so much more to learn not just about Pilates but how to make Pilates work for everybody. So by 2008 I got fully certified from beginner to advanced in each apparatus. As I began working with people in smaller groups or one on one I realized that adapting these movements for the individual was going to be an integral part of my teaching. With that epiphany in mind I began to absorb as much information as I possibly could, by going to conferences and taking specific workshops.
I worked with other teachers up and down the east coast, from NYC to Miami over the years to help hone my skills and bring my experience to each student. The workshops I’ve taken have been everything from prenatal/perinatal, autoimmune support through movement, rehabilitation for breast cancer survivors, and joint replacement therapy to name a few. There have also been apparatus specified workshops for advanced movement on chair, reformer, and cadillac/tower. Not to mention the workshops for different props including foam roller, ring, balls and bosu and myofacial release. I’ve learned so much and continue to do so as I create practices for each person I have the opportunity teach.
